Kara Goode, BSW
Kara Goode is a Home-Based Caseworker and has worked for Bridges Counseling and Family Services since January 2016. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois in 2008 and has extensive social work experience.
She received her accredited bachelor’s degree after strength-based training and is a generalist social worker specializing in crisis intervention, child welfare, emergency management, and assisting individuals within their environments. Kara is a certified Nurturing Parenting Education facilitator and teaches individual and group parenting sessions.
Kara, through training and experience, has developed a level of expertise in social work dealing with child welfare, substance abuse recovery, domestic violence education, and medical social work. She has a strong knowledge base in identifying community-based resources in order to meet client’s needs. She has experience working with individuals and families navigating the Child Welfare System. She has worked closely with individuals in their homes, in the community, courtroom, school, hospital, and medical clinic settings. Kara is skilled in assessing individuals to assist in creating an individually tailored approach to meeting treatment goals and obtaining needed resources
